DESCRIPTION AKA Sweetheart Moon moth ( Latin ' dulce ' sweet ). The luna moth gets its name from its moon-like spots on each wing. This small pale lemon winged moth has several spots on the forewings with lovely long tails. The female displays shorter lower wings and is a little more stout looking than the male. The adult Saturniidae moths have no mouth parts or feeding tubes. The moths live for 7-10 days as adults, utilizing fats stored from caterpillar days. Note the outer wings are wavy - these look similar to the luna moth but have noticeable differences.
These specimens are hand reared
Rarely stocked.
tiny chip out of top wing / tiny hole in bottom wing - both hardly noticeable - see image with red arrows
