DESCRIPTION AKA The Malachite. Unusual green colouration on this brush-footed butterfly from the family Nymphalidae. Pretty lace like markings in pale mint and chocolate colourings shown on the ventral side .The adults feed on nectar from rotting fruit and are a common species found throughout southern America. This frame shows the beautiful colours of each side of this species.
Philaethria dido AKA The Scarce Bamboo Page. Pretty mint green and black lace markings on this butterfly from the family Nymphalidae. The larvae feed on passion vines and look like bird droppings. The adults are seen feeding on nectar on flowers in the tropical rainforests of South America.
