DESCRIPTION AKA Priam's Blue Birdwing is named in honor of Priam, the last king of Troy. The subspecies Urvillianus inhabits New Ireland and Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands. Large birdwing with beautiful blue / black wings in stark contrast to the larger female which has a dull browish wing coloration. Shown dorsal side which is as beautiful and the ventral side.
This butterfly has been imported with permits.
