FRAME 20x20xD5cm Made from recycled products.
DESCRIPTION The Morphos are Neotropical butterflies found mostly in South America. This male Morpho cypris has the most dazzling iridescent blue colouring highlighted with a chain of white markings on its fringed wings. A little smaller than Rhetenor helenor but a brighter blue. There are 29 species of Morpho. Their iridescent colouring is a result of the microscopic scales on the wings which reflect light. The underside is a dull brownish colour usually with various eyespots which deter predators when wings are closed and also provide great camouflage when perched on trees or bushes
This is truly the most spectacular butterfly in our range and a must for any collector.
