DESCRIPTION  Urania leilus - Yes this is a moth ! Metallic greens on this great South American moth. Showing the viso side. This moth also has beautiful colouration on the verso side.

Papilio paris-  AKA Paris peacock. Beautiful predominant jade green spot marking on the lower wing on this large butterfly from the Papilionidae family. Look closely and the tiny green dots covering wings.  

Doxocopa cherubina - AKA Turquoise Emperor. Brown edges highlighted with electric metallic blue colourings on this spectacular South American species. From the Nymphalidae family. They are most often seen when visiting wet muddy patches, or on the edges of small streams. They feed on rotting fruit, dung or carrion on the ground. Each scale has a ridged surface that refracts and reflects light in iridescent hues of blue, green and violet.

Papilio blumei - Large green and black butterfly AKA Peacock swallowtail. Looking carefully at the wings they are covered in tiny green dots and viewed from certain angles you can see a blue or yellow hue.
