DESCRIPTION  Large brown white striped antlion. Although superficially resembling a dragon or damselfly, antlions are actually Neuroptera insects in the family Myrmeleontidae. They differ from dragons and damsels in having clubbed antenna. As juveniles this furry cockroach - like insect digs conical holes in soft sand which traps ants which it then pounces on. Later in life they grown wings but aren't known as great flyers.
